Project Horseshoe incentive package
A business prospect known only as 'Project Horseshoe' is negotiating an economic development incentive package with the city. The board reviewed the terms in closed session and recommended approval, but the City Council will make the final decision — meaning public details about the company, jobs, and incentives remain limited for now.
Precious Metal and Gem Dealer Regulations
The city adopted new rules requiring background checks, permits, and electronic transaction reporting for precious metal and gem buyers to help police track stolen property.
Discontinuation of Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program
The board evaluated facade grant requests and discussed policy changes to shift remaining funds toward restaurant incentives. With annual grant funds fully depleted, officials are considering stricter private investment matching requirements for future downtown projects.
