Property Tax Affordability and Tarrant Appraisal District Concerns

The proposed budget raises the property tax rate from 57.02 to 60.58 cents per $100 valuation — still below the no-new-revenue rate — meaning roughly $46 more per year on the average home. Council members warned that flat sales tax, a 4% drop in assessed values, and potential legislative action could squeeze future budgets.
