San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones opposes ICE's plan for a new detention center, urging transparency and collaboration on potential impacts, according to her letter
"If they try to move forward without that assessment, we are ready. We have retained legal counsel, and we'll take action if necessary."
"We're working every legal aspect we can to stop it, and we will make sure that this is not going to happen in our name," said Commissioner Tommy Calvert.
