4 issues in roads
Koeblen Road Segment 2 construction project
The $8.4 million project completes the four-lane Koeblen Road link between SH 36 and FM 2218, with the developer/MUD already having built part of it and the rest paid by the 2020 voter-approved mobility bond.
Traffic congestion on Minonite Road corridor
Council members flagged that Minonite Road is already badly congested, and TxDOT has delayed a roadway improvement project that may not start construction for another 10 years. Adding 600-plus homes and roughly 1,200 cars would make it worse.
Traffic Calming and Speed Limits
The council addressed neighborhood safety by setting a 35 mph speed limit on a new section of Spacek Road and approving two speed humps on Dallas Avenue.
Commercial Truck Restrictions in Greenwood Subdivision
Residents have raised concerns about large commercial trucks parking overnight and cutting through narrow residential streets in the Greenwood subdivision. The city is considering an ordinance to prohibit heavy trucks and cut-through traffic to improve neighborhood safety.
