Police Training Facility Improvements
Residents questioned spending over $500,000 on artificial turf for the police training building when upcoming bond proposals might also include funds for rehabilitating the same facility. Staff clarified that the turf project provides immediate all-weather training space and won't conflict with future interior renovations.
Park Regulations and Police Ejectment Authority
New park rules limit amplified sound, clarify prohibited projectile devices, and give police officers direct authority to clear out unruly park visitors.
Public Safety Technology
Midlothian is installing Flock license plate-reading cameras across town to help police track vehicles. While the city says it’s all about catching criminals, some residents are worried about what this means for our personal privacy.
Public Infrastructure and School Safety
Midlothian is leveling up with a brand-new park and tighter security at local schools. It’s a solid move to make the city safer and more fun for families living here.
