Civic Issues
Topics getting the most attention in Lake Dallas public meetings, ranked by how frequently they are discussed.
4 issues in general with high priority
Atmos Energy pipeline construction settlement
The city settled claims with Atmos and pipeline contractors over gas line construction damage around town. The amount is confidential, but Vrba wants the money locked to street repairs in the affected areas.
City Manager Appointment
The council was scheduled to meet in closed session to deliberate the city manager's duties and annual evaluation.
Tiny House Park expansion near downtown
A second phase of tiny homes — 14 more pads on 0.815 acres near the existing Phase 1 — is proposed downtown. The hearing was continued to June 11 so residents can still submit comments.
City Manager Termination
Lake Dallas just fired its city manager even though staff and residents showed up to protest. The move puts attention on how the council makes leadership decisions and who will run city operations next.
