Flock camera system

A tech industry worker said Flock's license plate readers have over 30 unresolved security vulnerabilities, are physically accessible on public sidewalks, and warned that constant monitoring erodes freedom — urging the council to hold off until real state or federal oversight exists.

Argued the system can assemble detailed travel histories of law-abiding residents, cited documented officer misuse cases including one in Pasadena, Texas, and asked the city to reconsider — or at minimum adopt independent audits, transparency reports, data-sharing limits and short retention periods.
