Public Official Misconduct
Summary
The Harris County Treasurer was arrested for a DWI over the weekend, sparking a debate about whether our top-level officials are being held to the same standards as the rest of us. It’s a bad look for the county and raises real questions about the judgment of those managing our public funds.

Impact analysis
While there’s no direct hit to your wallet yet, legal fees and potential administrative fallout could end up costing taxpayers if this leads to a prolonged investigation or special election.
This situation mostly benefits political opponents looking for a reason to challenge the current administration's integrity.
The public trust is the biggest loser here, as it makes the whole county government look disorganized and irresponsible.
