Construction Noise and Hours
Forney is tightening the screws on 'nuisance properties' that attract crime and code violations. If you're a homeowner or landlord, expect stricter rules aimed at keeping our neighborhoods from sliding downhill.
Teen Curfew Policy
Texas just made city-wide teen curfews illegal, so Forney has to scrub its old rules from the books to stay compliant. It’s basically a legal cleanup job to make sure our local ordinances match the new state law.
Infrastructure Maintenance
Forney is finally tackling the overgrown medians on Ranch Road after months of driver complaints. It’s a long-overdue cleanup that should make your daily commute safer and a lot less of an eyesore.
Zoning Amendment for 13.997 Acres Near U.S. Highway 80
Nearly 14 acres of land were successfully rezoned to a planned development overlay district to pave the way for future commercial or mixed-use development.
Municipal Governance
Forney’s mayor is in hot water after getting into a physical fight with a council member, which is a massive red flag for our city's leadership. It’s a chaotic situation that makes you wonder if our local government can actually get anything done right now.
Government Facility Relocation
Forney is moving its city hall and municipal offices to a new location. Make sure you double-check the address before heading out to pay your water bill or handle city business.
Ethics Ordinance Reform
Forney is shaking up its ethics rules to keep local leaders in check. It’s a big deal because these updates will decide how much transparency and accountability we can actually expect from City Hall.
City Administration
Forney just hired a new city manager to handle the day-to-day operations of our local government. Since this person essentially runs the city's engine, their leadership style will directly impact how quickly and effectively our local services get done.
Disaster Recovery
Forney is officially in cleanup mode after that recent tornado tore through town. Check the city’s website ASAP to see how to handle debris and find the safety resources you need to get back on your feet.
