As of Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, the Town is operating under a new contracted agreement with Republic Services. As part of the negotiations for this new contract, the Town is implementing a new Seasonal Green Waste Recycling program. As part of the program, Republic Services will now be collecting green waste – such as brush, leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and other similar yard debris – for recycling twice a year, typically once in the spring and once in the fall. This new program will help keep green waste out of the landfill, where it takes up valuable space. Instead, the collected material can be processed into useful products such as compost and mulch, allowing those natural materials to be reused rather than buried in a landfill.
