KMP Plumbing Headquarters Commercial Site Plan & Fencing Variance
KMP Plumbing requested permission to use a black vinyl-coated chain-link fence around their rear storage yard instead of the decorative wrought iron required in the High Point Business Park. Commissioners weighed the aesthetic standards of the premier business park against the practical needs of an industrial service yard and decided to grant the variance since the fence is hidden in the back.
Hooper Business Park and CR 1019 Land Exchange
The city is finalizing a land swap with developers RE Development and MPC 18 LLC to make way for a multifamily project. This trade gives the developer the needed road frontage while the city picks up extra acreage near Hooper Business Park.
Crunch Fitness Sign Variance Request
Crunch Fitness sought major sign variances for a taller, larger monument sign placed just 30 inches from the right-of-way on Green Ridge Drive. The council ultimately voted down the request, holding firm on the city's sign code standards to prevent visual clutter and safety hazards near the road.
