Trash Pickup Reduction
Clute is slashing regular trash pickup to once a week and heavy-trash collection to just four times a year starting in April 2027 because waste management costs are getting too high. If you live there, you'll need to adjust to having your curb cleared a lot less often.
Language Access in County Services
Surfside Beach is shaking things up with a new interim city administrator and a bunch of new rules for beach traffic and emergency services. It’s a major leadership pivot that’s going to change how the city handles your daily services.
District Court Judgment Review Contract Labor
The district judges requested funding to hire two contract attorneys to review criminal judgment paperwork. This extra layer of review will catch clerical errors and affirmative finding omissions before documents go to the state, saving staff from repeating work.
City Legal Counsel Appointment
Freeport just swapped out its city attorney for a new law firm after firing the previous one. This move could shift how the city handles everything from big contracts to new local policies.
